The Aldergrove Spitfire

The Aldergrove Spitfire P7843 collided with another Spitfire over The Lizard, Cornwall on 24th January 1942. It was a Belfast Telegraph Spitfire Fund plane.

The Aldergrove Spitfire had the serial number P7843 NK-G. The Mark IIa Supermarine Spitfire flew with RAF 66 Squadron, RAF 118 Squadron, RAF 152 Squadron, RAF 306 Squadron, and RAF 66 Squadron. On 24th January 1942, the Aldergrove Spitfire collided with Spitfire P8430 around 5 miles north west of The Lizard, Cornwall.

The plane was one of many fighters funded by people of Northern Ireland who contributed to the Belfast Telegraph Spitfire Fund.
