The Mid-Ulster Spitfire

The Mid-Ulster Spitfire P7834 served throughout the Second World War until struck off charge at the war's end by the Royal Air Force on 28th June 1945.

The Mid Ulster Spitfire had the serial number P7834 RY-F. The Mark IIa Supermarine Spitfire flew with RAF 72 Squadron, RAF 74 Squadron, RAF 610 Squadron, RAF 340 Squadron, RAF 61 Operational Training Unit, RAF 52 Operational Training Unit, RAF 5 (Pilots) Advanced Flying Unit. On 28th June 1945, the Royal Air Force struck The Mid Ulster Spitfire off charge.

The plane was one of many fighters funded by people of Northern Ireland who contributed to the Belfast Telegraph Spitfire Fund.
