'Bombs on Belfast: The Blitz 1941' is a photographic journey through the days of the Belfast Blitz of April and May 1941. The book features a large collection of photographs from the archives of the Belfast Telegraph newspaper.
Through the course of this work, with a foreward by Dr. Ian Adamson OBE, the reader can explore different sections of life in the city. Each chapter focuses on a specific area, from East Belfast, North Belfast, the docks, the city centre businesses, and the churches most affected by the Luftwaffe raids. The well presented and informative content, although mostly pictorial, offers a great insight to life in Belfast during and following the Blitz. Captions help the reader place the photographic content in its wider context but so often a picture says a thousand words.
