Royal Ulster Rifles

While much is written of 1st and 2nd Battalions Royal Ulster Rifles, other units of young men and veterans remained on Home Defence duties during the war.

Royal Ulster Rifles had their historic base in Armagh, Co. Armagh. Those keen to learn more about the regiment can visit the Royal Ulster Rifles Regimental Museum at 5 Waring Street, Belfast, Co. Antrim.

30th Battalion Royal Ulster Rifles

30th Battalion Royal Ulster Rifles formed from 6th (Home Defence) Battalion Royal Ulster Rifles on 24th December 1940. The unit disbanded in May 1943.
