Grumman Hellcat FN394 came down on a training exercise as 22 year old pilot Lieutenant Hugh Greenville Knowles flew over high ground in rural Co. Antrim.
On 31st March 1945, a small yacht carrying men from HMS Sarawak overturned. Five of those on the boat drowned in Belfast Lough leaving only one survivor.
