The memorial in Treptower Park is a commemoration of the sacrifice made by Soviet troops as well as a mass grave for many killed in the Battle for Berlin.
Berlin is a wonderful city to explore for anyone but particularly for those interested in World War Two. My visit in October 2017 took in these sights.
