In 1939, the British Merchant Navy was the largest in the world. Many from port towns and villages in Ulster served throughout the Battle of the Atlantic.
Norwegian Merchant Navy
After the Nazi occupation of Norwar in 1940, Nortraship based in London administered the fleet of the Norwegian Merchant Navy until liberation in May 1945.
