The King's Hall, Belfast, Co. Antrim "home" team Balmoral Tigers defeated Thornton Wasps 7-2 in the Northern Ireland Ice Hockey League on 9th March 1940.

Civilian | Belfast Jewish Community

President of the Belfast Hebrew Congregation Barney Hurwitz was instrumental in saving many lives during World War Two by establishing a refugee settlement.

Leon Maton

Private

Private Leon Maton served with 2nd (Yser) Infantry Brigade of the Belgian Army. He died following an illness in Belfast on 9th March 1945.

James Traynor

Gunner | 1524019

Gunner James Traynor from Belfast, Co. Antrim died on 9th March 1942 while he was serving with 226th Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment in the Royal Artillery.
