Remembrance Day or Armistice Day takes place annually on 11th November. Many wear the poppy and take 2 minutes silence to pay their respects to the fallen.

First Radio Officer Robert Allison McPhillimy was an experienced seaman from Co. Tyrone who emigrated to the USA before his death on 11th November 1940.

John Moore

Gunner II | 1903432

John Moore was a non-commissioned officer in Royal Air Force 115 Squadron. He died in England on a training exercise accident on 11th November 1947.

Bailey Bridges over the Blackwater

On 11th November 1942, Royal Engineers constructed a pair of Bailey Bridges over the River Blackwater near Caledon on the border between Co. Armagh and Co. Tyrone.
