On 14th October 1941, 6th Battalion Royal Berkshire Regiment shattered the silence of the countryside around Coleraine, Co. Londonderry with a realistic training exercise involving Light Tanks, Bren Gun Carriers, and captured "enemy" vehicles.
Her Royal Highness the Princess Royal in Northern Ireland
On 14th October 1942, Her Royal Highness the Princess Royal visited a range of medical and military facilities in Northern Ireland. These included an A.T.S. Camp at Palace Barracks, Holywood, Co. Down, a Royal Corps of Signals parade in Wallace Park, Lisburn, Co. Antrim, and a stop at Stranmillis Military Hospital, Belfast.
