Albert George MacFarlane, known to family and friends as Bertie, died at his family home at 101 Belfast Road, Bangor, Co. Down on 29th January 1942. He served in the Royal Naval Reserve.

Telegraphist Albert George MacFarlane (D/WRX 741) served in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve during World War Two. He served at HMS Drake, a naval barracks at Devonport, Plymouth.

He was the son of William MacFarlane and Hessie MacFarlane of “Shelbourne”, 101 Belfast Road, Bangor, Co. Down. His father was a plater. Albert, known to family and friends as “Bertie” died at his parents’ home on 29th January 1942 aged 28 years old.

Albert George MacFarlane’s grave is in Section 5Q, Grave 181 of Bangor New Cemetery, Bangor, Co. Down.
