Able Seaman Albert Gillian Lightfoot (D/SSX 20226) served in the Royal Navy during World War Two. Some documentation gives Lightfoot the middle name Julian, while the Commonwealth War Graves Commission states Gillian.

Born on 22nd August 1919, he was the son of Albert Lightfoot and Janine Lightfoot (née Julian or Gillian) of Kiligarth Manor, Polperro, Cornwall.

Lightfoot died on 16th January 1941 aged 21 years old. His death came about by injuries sustained when a hand grenade accidentally exploded onboard HMS Broke.
