Sergeant Arthur Aloysius Macardle (1136009) served in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve during World War Two. He was the youngest son of the late Peter Joseph Macardle and Mary Ann Macardle of 80 University Street, Belfast, Co. Antrim, and husband of Mary Freda Macardle of Streatham, London.

Arthur Aloysius Macardle died on 24th May 1944 aged 24 years old. He was a Wireless Operator / Air Gunner. His grave is in Section B, Row OA, Grave 103 of Milltown Cemetery, Belfast, Co. Antrim. His headstone bears the inscription:

Beloved husband of Mary Macardle and son of Mary A and the late PJ Macardle, Belfast. RIP.
