Sergeant David Corry (3126332) served in the Royal Scots Fusiliers during World War Two. Born in 1906, he was the son of David Corry and Margaret Corry (née Irvine) of Newtownards, Co. Down.
According to the 1911 Irish Census taken on 2nd April 1911, the family lived at 100 East Street, Newtownards, Co. Down. David was the second youngest of 7 children of David and Margaret. Elder siblings were Robert Corry, Mary Corry, Thomas Corry, Henry Corry, and William Morris Corry. James Corry was the youngest in the family. Older brother Henry Corry also died on active service during the Second World War.
David married Sarah “Sally” Gunning of Newtownards, Co. Down. The couple had a daughter Margaret Corry born on 26th October 1937.
Sergeant Corry died on 21st November 1944 aged 38 years old. David Corry’s grave is in Section 23, Grave 131 of Movilla Cemetery, Newtownards, Co. Down.
