Lieutenant Edward Charles Dalton served in the Royal Naval Fleet Air Arm based in Trinidad with 750 Squadron at his time of death.

Lieutenant Edward Charles Dalton served in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve during World War Two. He was the son of Joseph Dalton and Mary Ann Dalton of Timoney, Tipperary, Ireland, and the husband of Helen Elizabeth "Betty" Dalton of Belfast, Co. Antrim.

While serving in Royal Naval Fleet Air Arm 750 Squadron, Edward was involved in a fatal air crash. He died at the Royal Naval Air Station HMS Goshawk, Trinidad on 24th February 1942 aged 39 years old.

Edward Charles Dalton’s grave is in Western Portion, Grave 43 of St. James’ Military Cemetery, Port of Spain, Trinidad. His headstone bears the inscription:
