Erwin Jakobi

Saxophone player Erwin Jakobi was known to all on the resettlement farm at Millisle, Co. Down as Yakobi. Coming from a medical family, he looked after the health and welfare of the children.

Known to all on the farm as Yakobi, Erwin Jakobi was a saxophone player from Vienna, Austria. He came from a family with a medical pedigree. Because of this, he came to be in charge of the health and welfare of the kindertransport children at Ballyrolly House, Millisle, Co. Down.

Erwin Jakobi was a small, rotund man, remembered by the children on the farm for his sweet smile. As well as taking care of their general health and wellbeing, he provided much-needed emotional support to the children.
