Francis Joseph Kiernan of Belfast, Co. Antrim received injuries while serving in Singapore with the Royal Navy in 1944.

Stoker 1st Class Francis Joseph Kiernan (D/KX89844) served in the Royal Navy during World War Two. He sailed on HMS Royal Oak and was the son of Joseph Kiernan and Margaret Kiernan of Belfast, Co. Antrim.

Kiernan died on 21st January 1946 aged 33 years old. The Royal Navy sent him home from Singapore in 1944 and it is likely his death was as a result of long-term injuries.
