Captain James Charles Skelly (265920) served in 82nd Assault Squadron, Royal Engineers during World War Two. He was the son os Samuel Skelly and Louisa Skelly of Belfast, Co. Antrim.
Skelly died on 1st November 1944 aged 25 years old. He was on board an LVT (Landing Vehicle Tracked), hit while coming ashore at Westkappele, Netherlands. Royal Engineers were part of the Battle of the Scheldt.
James Charles Skelly has no known grave. His name is on Panel 2 of the Groesbeek Memorial, Gelderland, Netherlands.
