Maurice Solomon was part of a group from the Belfast Jewish Community who leased a 70-acre farm in Millisle, Co. Down to provide a safe haven for Kindertransport children.

Maurice Solomon was a member of the Belfast Jewish Community and part of the Refugee Aid Committee.

In May 1939, he, along with Barney Hurwitz and Leo Scop leased a 70-acre derelict farm in Millisle, Co. Down for 20-years. This farm at Ballyrolly House, Millisle, Co. Down would be a safe-haven to many Jewish Kindertransport Children fleeing persecution in Europe.
