Sergeant Robert Trevor Gibson (1036711) served in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve during World War Two. Before enlisting, he lived at 171 University Street, Belfast, Co. Antrim.
Gibson was Flight Engineer on Handley Page Halifax BB326 with No. 1659 Heavy Conversion Unit. He died on 12th November 1943 as the plane came down after taking off from RAF Halfpenny Green, Worcestershire at 1315hrs. Sergeant Gibson was 21 years old.

The impact threw Pilot Officer TM Murdock (J27606) clear of the burning wreckage and he was the only survivor.
