Samuel Alexander Moore McKinney of Belfast, Co. Down served in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve during the Second World War and died as a result of an accident in Deben, Suffolk.

Pilot II Samuel Alexander Moore McKinney (1795958) served in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve during World War Two. He was the youngest son of George McKinney and Esther McKinney of 27 Upper Frank Street, Belfast, Co. Down.

Samuel died as a result of a motorcycle accident in Deben, Suffolk on 30th August 1947 aged 23 years old. He served in RAF 54 Squadron. Samuel’s brother Pilot Officer Robert Love McKinney also died on service.

Samuel Alexander Moore McKinney’s grave is in Section B5, Grave 210 of Dundonald Cemetery, Dundonald, Co. Down. The funeral took place from 77 Victoria Avenue, Belfast, Co. Down. His headstone bears the inscription:
