Samuel Hunter of Eastland Street, Belfast, Co. Antrim died in hospital on 27th January 1941 while serving with 6th (Home Defence) Battalion, Royal Ulster Rifles.

Rifleman Samuel Hunter (7017055) served in 6th Battalion Royal Ulster Rifles during World War Two. He was the son of Isaac Hunter and Sarah Hunter of Belfast, Co. Antrim.

Samuel lived with his wife Catherine Jane Hunter at 15 Eastland Street, Belfast, Co. Antrim. He died in hospital on 27th January 1941 aged 46 years old. He served with the Royal Irish Fusiliers and sustained injuries in World War One.

Samuel Hunter’s grave is in Glenalina Extension, Section T1, Grave 118 of Belfast City Cemetery, Belfast, Co. Antrim. His headstone bears the inscription:

I know that my Redeemer liveth.
