Leading Aircraftman Thomas Martin Thompson (525225) served in the Royal Air Force during the Second World War. Born on 9th January 1915, he was the son of William John Thompson of Killyleagh, Co. Down.

He was the eldest of six children. His younger sisters were Rachel Thompson, Winnifred Reaney Thompson, and Olive Thompson. He had two younger brothers Samuel Finlay Thompson, Norman McBurney Thompson. Another brother Gilbert Thompson died in infancy.

Leading Aircraftman Thompson died on 17th February 1940 in France. Thomas Martin Thompson’s grave is in Section 14, Row D, Grave 11 of Bienvillers Military Cemetery, Pas-de-Calais, France. His name is on the Killyleagh War Memorial, Killyleagh, Co. Down.
