Private Thomas Rafferty (2188353) served in the Pioneer Corps during World War Two. He had also seen action in World War One.
Born on 23rd August 1897, he was the son of Joseph Rafferty and Alice Rafferty (née Callaghan) of Belfast, Co. Antrim. His wife was Nora Rafferty (née McGuigan) of Bessbrook, Co. Armagh.
Thomas died on 7th November 1940 aged 43 years old. His place of death was Belfast, Co. Antrim.
Thomas Rafferty’s grave is in Section A, Row TF, Grave 30 of Milltown Cemetery, Belfast, Co. Antrim. His headstone bears the inscription:
Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on his soul.
