William Aiken

Lance Bombardier William Aiken enlisted in 8th (Belfast) Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment on 24th April 1939. He later went on to serve in Burma and the Pacific Theatre of War.

Lance Bombardier William Aiken (1456605) served in 8th (Belfast) Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment, Royal Artillery during World War Two. He was the son of Alexander Aiken and Sarah Aiken, and the husband of Margaret Aiken of 32 Voltaire Gardens, Belfast, Co. Antrim.

William worked as a chauffeur before the outbreak of World War Two, enlisting on 24th April 1939. He died on 12th December 1944 aged 33 years old.

William Aiken has no known grave. His name is on Panel 2, Column 3 of the Brookwood 1939-1945 Memorial, Surrey.
