William Joseph Robb served in the Merchant Navy during World War Two. He was a fireman on board Royal Fleet Auxiliary ship SS Salveda.
He was the son of William Robb and Mary Robb of Belfast, Co. Antrim, and husband of Margaret Anne Robb of Belfast, Co. Antrim. Robb died on 19th December 1943 aged 59 years old on board the Salveda.

Royal Fleet Auxiliary ship SS Salveda was an ocean salvage ship laid down at Cammel Laird shipyard, Birkenhead, Liverpool. It launched on 9th February 1943. 72 men served on board the Salveda and it boasted four 20mm anti-aircraft guns.
William Joseph Robb’s grave is in Section B, Row NG, Grave 37 of Milltown Cemetery, Belfast, Co. Antrim. His headstone bears the inscription:
In loving memory of my dear husband. On his soul, sweet Jesus have mercy.
