109th Ordnance Company

109th Ordnance Company arrived in Northern Ireland as part of 34th Infantry Division of the United States Army in 1942 to prepare for battle in the ETO.

109th Ordnance Company arrived at Belfast, Co. Antrim on troop-ship Dutchess of Athol on 2nd March 1942. Also on board were elements of 133rd Infantry Regiment and 168th Infantry Regiment and 34th Quartermaster Company. They had departed from Brooklyn, New York on 19th February 1942.

After training in Northern Ireland, this company saw service in North Africa and Italy. This was a Medium Maintenance Company tasked with retrieval and repair of weapons, vehicles, and other equipment.
