On 4th July 1940, the Belfast Newsletter listed St. Paul's Public Elementary School as a place from where unregistered children would be evacuated on Monday 8th July 1940.

This was part of an attempt to evacuate young people from Belfast a year before the Blitz.

The school stood on Canning Place, Belfast and by 1943, the Principal was a Mr. Glasgow.
