The village of Kells, Co. Antrim lies about 5 miles south-east of the area's main town of Ballymena, Co. Antrim. The Kells Water runs by the village and the neighbouring village of Connor, with an ancient stone bridge linking the two.
During the Second World War, a Camp for Gibraltarian Evacuees occupied a site on Craigstown Road near the river.
