On 24th September 1941, S.S. Bereby ran aground at Ringvad Point, Gunn's Island, Ballyhornan, Co. Down en route from Liverpool, England to Takoradi, Ghana. Lieutenant J.R. Bainbridge photographed the Army unloading the vessel on 9th October 1941.
