Newry Cenotaph stands on Bank Parade, Newry, Co. Down. The monument by McEwan Granite Co. was moved to its present location in 1939. It first stood at Trevor Hill in the Co. Down town.
There are no names listed on the Newry memorial. In 1999, Newry and Mourne District Council began a project to record the names of those from the locality who died in both World Wars. The results, compiled by Colin Moffett, lists 373 people from the Newry area and includes merchant mariners and civilian casualties.
On 14th July 2018, BBC Northern Ireland reported vandalism to the Newry Cenotaph. Vandals removed poppy wreaths from the memorial, throwing them into a nearby river. The attack came only a week after vandals damaged poppy wreaths in nearby Warrenpoint. Ulster Unionist councillor David Taylor and Sinn Féin councillor Conor Murphy condemned the attack.
