The second day of Operation Market Garden on 18th September 1944 saw more Ulster casualties including "Fighting Sid" from Shankill, Belfast.

On 18th September 2020, Spitfire PL893 'L' flew over several towns and cities across Northern Ireland in support of the hard work carried out by National Health Service staff during the COVID pandemic. The Aircraft Restoration Company owned Spitfire is raising funds for N.H.S. Charities Together.
