Sergeant Arthur Reginald Davis (414730) served in the Royal New Zealand Air Force during the Second World War. He was the son of Charles Albert Davis and Minnie Davis of Invercargill, Southland, New Zealand and husband of Lorraine Muriel Davis of Levin, Wellington, New Zealand.
Sergeant Davis died on 15th May 1943 aged 24 years old. At the time, he served with RAF No. 5 (Coastal) Operational Training Unit. He was a Wireless Operator / Air Gunner on board Bristol Beaufort EL131. After taking off from RAF Long Kesh, Co. Down, the plane came down at 0920hrs around 1 mile north of Shields’ Corner, Castledawson, Co. Londonderry killing all 5 of the crew.
