Carpenter's Mate Edward James Archer served in the Naval Auxiliary Personnel during the Second World War. Born on 4th April 1923, he was the son of Edward James Archer and Isabella Archer (née McNeice) of Belfast, Co. Antrim.
He died on 23rd August 1946 aged 24 years old. During the Second World War, he served on H.M.S. Nairana where he contracted Tuberculosis. He died at a hospital in Belfast.
Edward James Archer’s grave is in Glenalina Extension, Section Y, Grave 75 of Belfast City Cemetery, Belfast. His headstone bears the inscription:
