Elizabeth "Lily" Maguire was the daughter of James Laverty and Elizabeth Laverty of Falls Road, Belfast. She died at her home in Coventry, Warwickshire, England as the Luftwaffe attacked in October 1940.

Elizabeth Maguire was a civilian casualty of the Luftwaffe's aerial Blitz on Coventry. Known as Lily, she was the daughter of James Laverty and Elizabeth Laverty of 180 Falls Road, Belfast.

Elizabeth died on 12th October 1940 aged 30 years old as bombs fell at 58 Aldbourne Road, Coventry, Warwickshire, England. Her husband John Vincent “Jackie” Maguire died in the same air raid. The family story suggests that both died in a public air raid shelter that took a direct hit leaving only a single survivor. Had they remained in their home, they may have survived as the house sustained only a cracked wall.

A Requiem Mass was said for both Elizabeth Maguire and John Vincent Maguire at St. Osburg’s Church on 17th October 1940. Burial took place at London Road Cemetery, Coventry, Warwickshire, England.
