Hugh Beattie of Belfast served in the Royal Air Force's 2738 Squadron at the time of his death during the Second World War.

Aircraftman 1st Class Hugh Beattie (1795089) served in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve during World War Two. He was the son of Joseph Beattie and Eliza Jane Beattie (née McClelland) of Belfast, Co. Antrim.

He died on 5th June 1943 aged 19 years old. At the time, he was with RAF 2738 Squadron. Registration of the airman’s death took place in Buckrose, Yorkshire.

Hugh Beattie’s grave is in Section MM, Grave 101 of Carnmoney Cemetery, Newtownabbey, Co. Antrim.
