Sergeant James Francis Ferguson Kerr of Strandtown, Belfast served in the Royal Airforce Volunteer Reserve during the Second World War and was training as an Observer.

Sergeant James Francis Ferguson Kerr (748075) served in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve during the Second World War. Known as Frank, he was the son of James Kerr and Florence Eda Kerr of Strandtown, Belfast.

Sergeant Kerr died on 21st October 1940 aged 21 years old. He was training as an Observer on Bristol Blenheim L8871. The other crew on board from No. 13 Operational Training Unit were Sergeant L.H. Hillelson and Sergeant A.W. Dinsmore. All 3 died as a result of an incident involving the Blenheim.

James Francis Ferguson Kerr’s grave is in a family plot at Section A1, Grave 14 of Dundonald Cemetery, Dundonald, Co. Down.
