James Patrick Cosgrove married Elizabeth McMahon in Grantham, Lincolnshire, England as war took hold across Europe. He served in the Royal Air Force.

Leading Aircraftman James Patrick Cosgrove (546234) served in the Royal Air Force during the Second World War. Born on 1st July 1917, he was the son of Frank Cosgrove and Mary Cosgrove of Belfast.

In September 1939, he married Elizabeth McMahon of Grantham, Lincolnshire, England. The couple returned to James’ native Belfast to set up a home. Leading Aircraftman Cosgrove died on 2nd November 1946 aged 29 years old.

James Patrick Cosgrove’s grave is in Section B, Row SF, Grave 19 of Milltown Cemetery, Belfast. His headstone bears the inscription:

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord. RIP.
