Corporal James Walker Montgomery was born in Belfast and later lived and married in Scotland before joining the Royal Air Force during the Second World War.

Corporal James Walker Montgomery (541538) served in the Royal Air Force during the Second World War. Born on 30th April 1913, he was the son of Robert McKenzie Montgomery and Jean Montgomery (née Kennedy) of Belfast, and husband of Margaret Montgomery (née Neave) of Gallowfauld, Angus.

Known to family and friends as Jim, he married Margaret Neave on 12th July 1939 in Inverarity, Angus, Scotland. He died at a military hospital in Belfast on 6th August 1942 aged 29 years old.

His grave is in Glenalina Extension, Section S, Grave 132 of Belfast City Cemetery, Belfast.
