John Vincent "Jackie" Maguire was the son of John Maguire and Mary Maguire of Hugo Street, Belfast. He died at his home in Coventry, Warwickshire, England as the Luftwaffe attacked in October 1940.

John Vincent Maguire was a civilian casualty of the Luftwaffe's aerial Blitz on Coventry. Known as Jackie, he was the son of John Maguire and Mary Maguire of 24 Hugo Street, Belfast.

Jackie died on 12th October 1940 aged 31 years old as bombs fell at 58 Aldbourne Road, Coventry, Warwickshire, England. His wife Elizabeth “Lily” Maguire died as a result of the same air raid. The family story suggests that both died in a public air raid shelter that took a direct hit leaving only a single survivor. Had they remained in their home, they may have survived as the house sustained only a cracked wall.

A Requiem Mass was said for both John Vincent Maguire and Elizabeth Maguire at St. Osburg’s Church on 17th October 1940. Burial took place at London Road Cemetery, Coventry, Warwickshire, England.
