Civilian Maria Wright died on 15th March 1941 aged 55 years old. She was the daughter of Sam McKee of Dromore, Co. Down and the wife of Dougald Wright.
Glasgow suffered a pair of devastating Luftwaffe attacks during the Clydebank Blitz on the evenings of 13th and 14th March 1941. Her sisters Sarah Guiney and Mary Stevenson died as a result of the Luftwaffe bombing. Niece Madge Guiney died in the same incident.
Maria Wright, Sarah Guiney, Madge Guiney, and Mary Stevenson lived at 6 Second Avenue, Glasgow. They died at 78 Clarence Street, Clydebank, Glasgow. Maria’s name is on the Civilian War Dead Roll of Honour at St. George’s Chapel, Westminster Abbey, London.
