Sergeant Peter Frank Morris was the Pilot on board Fairey Battle P6601, which came down near Cushendall, Co. Antrim on 22nd October 1940.

Sergeant Peter Frank Morris (754457) served in the Royal Air Force during the Second World War. He was the son of Frank Morris and Olive Primrose Morris of Hounslow, Middlesex, England.

He was a Pilot with R.A.F. 226 Squadron. On 27th June 1940, the squadron flew 14 Fairey Battles to Sydenham Airfield, Belfast. They reassembled in Belfast from Brest, France after sustaining heavy losses during the Battle of France.

Morris died on 22nd October 1940. Fairey Battle P6601 came down in bad weather on high ground near Cushendall, Co. Antrim. Wireless Operator / Air Gunner Sergeant James Hastie McMaster (552682) died the following day from injuries sustained as a result of the incident.

Peter Frank Morris’ grave is in Glenalina Extension, Section AS, Grave 88 of Belfast City Cemetery, Belfast.
