Sergeant Reginald William Bodsworth (1433913) served in the Royal Air Force during World War Two. Born on 21st April 1914, he was the son of William Robert Hugh Bodsworth and Lottie Bodsworth of Northampton, Northamptonshire. He was the husband of Gertrude Bodsworth of Northampton, Northamptonshire.

Bodsworth died on 21st February 1944 aged 29 years old of injuries sustained when Short Sunderland W6028 came down in Trory, Co. Fermanagh. On 20th February 1944, the crew from RAF 422 Squadron took off on a training flight to simulate a battle with a Bristol Beaufighter of RAF 235 Squadron. The plane came down near Trory, Co. Fermanagh.

Short Sunderland W6028 took off from RAF St. Angelo, Co. Fermanagh on 20th February 1944 in a training exercise with a Beaufighter from RAF 235 Squadron.

Reginald William Bodsworth’s grave is in Section 306, Grave 11320 of Kingsthorpe Cemetery, Northampton, Northamptonshire. His headstone bears the inscription:
