Flying Officer Robert Michael Kildea (118092) served in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve during the Second World War. He was the son of William Thomas Kildea and Mina Kildea of 8 Cheltenham Park, Belfast, and the husband of Ellen "Nell" P Kildea of 181 Templemore Avenue, Belfast. The couple had a young son named Michael Kildea.
Flying Officer Kildea died on 28th August 1943 aged 25 years old. At the time, he was a Pilot with R.A.F. 86 Squadron.
Robert Michael Kildea’s grave is in Section E5, Grave 235 of Dundonald Cemetery, Dundonald, Co. Down. His name is on the Royal Belfast Academical Institution War Memorial, Belfast. His headstone bears the inscription:
