Pilot Officer Ronald John Davies (42593) served in the Royal Air Force during the Second World War. He was the son of John Thomas Davies and Alice Beatrice Davies of Gillingham, Dorsetshire, England.
Davies died on 16th October 1940 aged 24 years old. He was a member of the crew on Lockheed Hudson T9328 with R.A.F. 224 Squadron. The plane came down on Slieveanee Mountain, Cargan, Co. Antrim killing all 5 crew members.
Ronald John Davies’ grave is in Section 24, Grave 8 of St. Catherine’s Church of Ireland, Killead, Co. Antrim. His headstone bears the inscription:
