Flying Officer Roy William Ellis (136508) served in the Royal Air Force during the Second World War. He was the son of Harry William Ellis and Ada F. Ellis of Hanwell, London.

He died on 7th August 1943 aged 22 years old on board Consolidated Catalina PBY-5B FP101 of R.A.F. No. 131 Operational Training Unit. The plane came down at Duross Point while approaching Castle Archdale, Co. Fermanagh on the return from a nighttime training flight. The cause was likely poor visibility due to the weather.

Flying Officer Anthony Allen Williams also died as a result of this incident while R.A.F. No. 131 Operational Training Unit was at RAF Killadeas, Co. Fermanagh. The remaining 6 members of the crew survived.
