Rudolf Schwarz was 53 years old at the time of his death while being held a prisoner of war in Northern Ireland on 29th May 1945.

Obermaat or Petty Officer Rudolf Schwarz served in the German Kriegsmarine during the Second World War. He was born on 18th November 1891.

In 1945, he came to Orangefield Park, Belfast as prisoner of war A939273. Schwarz died in the nearby Orangefield Military Hospital on 29th May 1945 aged 53 years old.

Rudolf Schwarz’s grave is in Block 4, Row 1, Grave 11 of Cannock Chase German Military Cemetery, Penkridge Bank, Staffordshire, England. He was first buried on 1st June 1945 in Glenalina Section ES, Grave 184, Belfast City Cemetery, Belfast. He was repatriated on 16th July 1962.
