Sergeant Thomas Lindsay Armstrong (745102) served in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve during the Second World War. He was the son of Thomas Armstrong and Agnes Armstrong of Belfast.
Sergeant Armstrong died on 5th June 1940 aged 22 years old. He was the pilot of Bristol Blenheim L1232 on a nighttime operation with RAF No. 5 Operational Training Unit. The Mark I fighter overshot the runway when landing an RAF Worcester, Worcestershire. The plane struck a tree and a house before catching fire.
Thomas Lindsay Armstrong’s grave is in Section AC, Grave 126 of Carnmoney Cemetery, Newtownabbey, Co. Antrim.
