Leading Aircraftman William David Nesbitt (1062124) served in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve during World War Two. He was the son of the late James McConkey Nesbitt and Eleanor Nesbitt (née Nicholson) of 93 Ulsterville Gardens, Belfast, Co. Antrim, and the husband of Martha "Mattie" Ferguson Nesbitt of 25 Martinez Avenue, Belfast, Co. Down.

William David Nesbitt died in Egypt on 17th March 1942 aged 29 years old while serving in RAF 250 Squadron. His grave is in Section V, Row C, Grave 9 of Port Said War Memorial Cemetery, Egypt. His headstone bears the inscription:

At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember thee.
