According to Noel Carville in the Portadown Times of 10th June 2014, there was a prisoner of war camp next to Killicomaine Castle. Killicomaine Castle is sometimes referred to locally as Irwin's Castle after the family who still reside there.
The camp stood in the castle grounds running from Collen’s Row to Killicomaine Road along what was then Collen’s Lane. The lane has been Princess Way since the construction of the new housing estate in 1954. Collen’s Row has long disappeared beneath what is now Abercorn Park in Portadown, Co. Armagh.
